The Medical Assessment Clinic, previously known as the Medical Triage Clinic, sees patients needing semi-urgent assessment. They are referred from the Emergency Department by physicians within the hospital or by community family physicians (SCOPE) and Nurse Navigator. The clinic works in partnership with the hospital to get tests and other specialist assessments completed urgently. Within our clinic, we also see people with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), Hepatitis C, and individuals with Clostridium Difficile (C. diff).
As of Monday, January 23, 2023, Michael Garron Hospital’s Medical Triage has changed its name to Medical Assessment Clinic and has moved to T1 in the new Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre. The Thomson Centre is located on MGH’s campus at the corner of Coxwell and Sammon Avenues.
