Neurology Outpatient Services

As of Monday, January 23, 2023, Michael Garron Hospital’s Outpatient Neurology Clinic has moved to T1 in the new Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre. The Thomson Centre is located on MGH’s campus at the corner of Coxwell and Sammon Avenues.

A physician referral is required for the following services.

  • General Neurology Clinic: Clinics provide nursing and physician assessment to patients with neurological issues such as Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, headaches and seizure disorders.  Clinics are held two times per week.
     
  • Memory Clinic: As one of the few clinics of this type available in the Metro Toronto area, the Memory Clinic provides comprehensive assessment and advanced testing for patients with memory challenges and various types of dementia including Alzheimer’s or Lewy Body Disease. 
     
  • Paediatric Neurology Clinic: A paediatric neurologist is available to assess children up to the age of 18 years for various neurological issues such as developmental delay, cerebral palsy, seizure disorders, and headaches.  This clinic is held twice per month.
     
  • Stroke Prevention Clinic: In coordination with the Coordinated Stroke Strategy for South East Metro, this clinic provides rapid access for assessment and diagnostic testing for stroke and TIA (mini-strokes).  It is one of the few clinics of this type available in the Metro Toronto area. The clinic is held two times per week.

 

How to prepare for your appointment

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to register at Patient Registration (1st Floor G-wing). Bring your health card and current medications. If you wish to reschedule or cancel your appointment please call 416-469-6406.

For EEG appointments: In preparation for your test, please ensure your hair is clean and does not have hair extensions.
