#IamMGH tells the stories of our people. To celebrate the recent expansion of the Moez & Marissa Kassam Food Court, we’re highlighting the people behind our food and retail vendors. Meet Amit Harilall, Owner of Pharmasave at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH).
“Before opening Pharmasave at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), I worked as the Director of Pharmacy for Walmart Canada. I gained experience that drove my passion to create a more personal, community-focused pharmacy where patients could get the individualized care they deserve.
When the opportunity presented itself to open Pharmasave at MGH, I knew it was the right fit for me. At the time, there was a need for an outpatient pharmacy in the area. With no pharmacy serving the MGH community, I knew that I could fill the gap and make a meaningful impact.
As a pharmacist, I get to have a direct relationship with our patients. Our accessibility allows us to provide timely care, which can make a real difference in someone’s day or their overall health.
We offer a wide range of services, from filling prescriptions for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and the community, to providing over-the-counter products and consultations in our pharmacist clinic for minor ailments.
What I enjoy most about my job is interacting with my patients, many of whom are MGH team members. Whether it’s helping a patient learn about their medications or simply offering a friendly greeting, being accessible and responsive is what makes my profession so fulfilling.
Recently, Pharmasave moved into a newly renovated space in the hospital. Our new space feels like a breath of fresh air. The larger, brighter layout has brought a renewed sense of energy and enthusiasm. The design is thoughtfully done, with the central tree theme adding a calming, welcoming touch, making visits more enjoyable for everyone. Pharmasave is a space where people feel comfortable and supported.”
