Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) is searching for art to purchase and permanently display in the new eight-storey Ken and Marilyn Thomson Patient Care Centre, a new adjoining three-storey building, and renovated areas of existing facilities.
The goal is to create a welcoming facility for patients and their families in the East Toronto area, with an emphasis on building a strong sense of community.
We welcome submissions in any media and in any style. Any wall art, sculptural art or digital art will be accepted in any medium; framing is not required. MGH may have requirements regarding cleaning or safety.
Prices will be considered in the range of $100-10,000.
Preference may be given to artists and art that:
- Demonstrates an understanding of East Toronto
- Illustrates diversity, equity and inclusion
- Is suitable in scale for the space (minimum size 36" x 36")
Stage 1: Call To Artists due Friday, Nov. 26, 2021 at 12 p.m.
Stage 2: Invitations to a shortlist of eligible artists in January 2022
All submitted work will be considered by the MGH Art Committee and some may be reviewed by the community via a private online commenting platform.
There are no fees and no prizes associated with this call. By submitting your entry, you give MGH the right to publish your images for evaluation and publicity purposes. Selected art will be purchased and owned by MGH.
