After a successful evaluation survey with Accreditation Canada, Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) is pleased to share that it has been awarded Accreditation with Exemplary Standing once again – the highest level of achievement that a healthcare organization can attain.
In addition to this exceptional ranking, the hospital has achieved a total survey score of 99.9 per cent – the highest score in the hospital’s history.
Accreditation Canada is an independent, non-profit organization that works with the Health Standards Organization to assess healthcare organizations against national healthcare standards. This is done through a week-long survey in which trained surveyors observe and meet with hospital teams, patients and volunteers to learn about its services and to evaluate its operations against 21 standards and 1,876 individual criteria.
MGH’s Accreditation survey ran from April 28 to May 1 and included visits to the hospital’s off-site Withdrawal Management Services.
In the official Accreditation Report, surveyors noted several strengths and areas of excellence within the hospital’s care and services; community work, engagement and collaboration; future goals related to excellence, innovation and environmental stability; its 10-year Strategic Plan; its people and much more.
These milestone results are a reflection and result of the hospital’s continuous commitment to providing safe, high-quality care that meets and/or exceeds national healthcare standards of excellence.
