Dr. Carmine Simone is a thoracic surgeon, the Chief of the Department of Surgery and Co-program Medical Director of the Surgery Health Service at the Michael Garron Hospital. He has courtesy privileges at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie, Ontario. He is also the Medical Director of Integrated Programs at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and Michael Garron Hospital. He went to medical school at McMaster University in Hamilton and graduated in 1988. He completed his thoracic surgery and adult critical care training at the University of Toronto in 2004. His clinical areas of interest are lung and esophagus cancers, mediastinal tumours and metastatic cancers to the chest. He is an associate professor at the University of Toronto, Division of Thoracic Surgery. He is involved in various hospital and provincial committees dealing with critical care and thoracic surgery standards. He sees new patients at the Odette Cancer Centre at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, at the Oncology Clinic at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie and in the Chest Centre at the Michael Garron Hospital.
