Dr. HANY SAWIRES

Dr. Sawires is a General Surgeon and Surgical Oncologist at the Michael Garron Hospital as of 2009. His undergraduate medical training was completed at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. Subsequently, he graduated from the University of Western Ontario as part of the OIMG program. He completed his residency in general surgery in 2007 followed by a fellowship in surgical oncology in 2009, both at the University of Toronto. Dr Sawires is Canadian and American Board Certified in both General Surgery and Surgical Oncology. Dr. Sawires has an interest in teaching residents and has received awards for this. He is a lecturer in the Department of Surgery at The University of Toronto. His clinical interests include the treatment of breast cancer, gastric cancer locally advanced colorectal cancer, Minimally Invasive Surgery, and therapeutic endoscopy. Dr Sawires is the Director of the Breast Diagnostic Clinic and the Division Head, General Surgery at the Michael Garron Hospital.
