When it comes to patient care delivery at Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), Occupational Therapists and Occupational Therapy Assistants play an active role in helping patients get back to doing what they love.

A profession focused on independence and everyday living, the primary goal of Occupational Therapy (OT) is to help people develop the skills needed to participate in daily activities when these activities have been limited by injury, illness, chronic disease, mental health issues, developmental delays or other health issues.

As a member of the interdisciplinary health care team, OT teams at MGH provide both inpatient and outpatient care in many different areas of the Hospital, including: Child Development Centre, Acute Care, Hand Therapy Program, Complex Continuing Care and Mental Health.

In celebration of Occupational Therapy Month, we invite you to go behind the scenes to see how our Occupational Therapy teams empower people of all ages to overcome barriers in their everyday lives.
