To apply the most current techniques and knowledge for the processing of sterile products in order to provide high quality service in the supply of med-surgical products and instrumentation to user areas.
Responsible for decontamination, reprocessing a nd sterilization of equipment, supplies and surgical instrumentation.
- Minimum of grade 12 or equivalent.
- Successful completion of MDRD certification from an accredited college (completion of program within the last 2 years) required.
- One-year experience (within the last 2 years ) working in an MDRD environment- required
- Adheres to hospital's workplace safety standards pertinent to position.
- experience in the functions of assembly , prep and package, decomtaination of sur gical case carts/instrument / trays / equipment.
- Computer skills.
- Able to demonstrate good decision-making and problem solving skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team environme nt.
- Demonstrated ability to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and push items over 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Ability to work all shifts including weekends and night shift.
- Good work and attendance record required.
