Overview

Registered Nurses (RN) are accountable to the professional standards of nursing practice from the College of Nurses of Ontario. Cardiology RNs possess a defined body of advanced research-based knowledge, specialized clinical skills, procedural skills and professional collaboration which is directed at comprehensive, effective patient and family centered care. Cardiology RNs integrate leadership competencies within the coordinated care team. RNs play a pivotal role in care and discharge planning, coordin ation, collaboration and delivery of high level functioning of the health care team. RNs apply their clinical knowledge and leadership skills to collect and interpret information, make appropriate nursing clinical decisions and carry out competent therap eutic nursing interventions.

Education

- Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Registration issued by the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- CNA (Critical Care) is preferred.
- Coronary care 1 & 2 required.
- Current BCLS\ACLS required.

Qualifications

- Minimum two years recent experience as a Registered Nurse in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab preferred.
- Minimum of two years critical care experience required.
- Previous OR experience an asset.
- Knowledge of principles of hemodynamic monitoring.

- Able to demonstrate excellence in Clinical Critical Care Practice.
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills, critical thinking in highly
stressed situations.
- Affiliation with professional organization an asset.
- Ability to physically perform duties while wearing required workplace safety gear.
- Good work and attendance record required.
