While COVID-19 restrictions ease across Ontario, MGH care partners and designated visitors must continue to wear a mask and show proof of vaccination when visiting a loved one. Learn more about our visitor guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.
We offer a telephone interpretation service to our multi-linguistic communities to ensure clear clinical information will be available to every patient, 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The telephone interpreter service protects patients’ rights to privacy and ensures a consistent and equitable standard of quality care.
Exceptions to using the service may be made in the following circumstances:
- If a patient identifies a close family member or friend as a preferred interpreter
If a department decides that, for a specific clinical situation, in-person interpretation provided by a certified medical interpreter is required
Please note: MGH staff are not qualified to provide interpretation services.
Sign Language Interpretation
If you require Sign Language interpretation for a visit to MGH, we require two to three weeks notice to arrange a Sign Language interpreter for your visit. Please let the person booking your appointment know that you require an interpreter so they can make the appropriate arrangements. If you have any questions, please contact @email.
