We offer a telephone interpretation service to our multi-linguistic communities to ensure clear clinical information will be available to every patient, 24 hours per day, seven days per week. The telephone interpreter service protects patients’ rights to privacy and ensures a consistent and equitable standard of quality care.
Exceptions to using the service may be made in the following circumstances:
If a department decides that, for a specific clinical situation, in-person interpretation provided by a certified medical interpreter is required
Please note: MGH staff are not qualified to provide interpretation services.
If you require Sign Language interpretation for a visit to MGH, we require two to three weeks notice to arrange a Sign Language interpreter for your visit. Please let the person booking your appointment know that you require an interpreter so they can make the appropriate arrangements. If you have any questions, please contact @email.
