What you need to know about COVID-19 vaccines in East Toronto starting June 27, 2022

Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) and East Toronto Health Partners (ETHP), the Ontario Health Team (OHT) serving East Toronto, are shifting their efforts toward COVID-19 recovery.

As a result, we are implementing the following changes to our vaccine work starting June 27.

Our Shoppers World Danforth clinic and school clinics are no longer operating after June 26

After June 26, we will no longer be operating COVID-19 vaccine clinics in East Toronto, including the Shoppers World Danforth clinic (3003 Danforth Ave.) and school clinics.

Since December 2020, MGH and ETHP have delivered more than 630,600 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in East Toronto and beyond.

We’re proud to share that more than 30,800 of these doses were administered at the Shoppers World Danforth clinic and more than 49,800 of these doses were administered at 450-plus school clinics across East Toronto.

In addition, almost 278,000 of these doses were administered at the Thorncliffe Park Community Hub clinic, the operations of which we transitioned to Toronto Public Health last month.

COVID-19 vaccines will continue to be available by walk-in at our COVID-19 Outreach Centres, pharmacies, city immunization clinics like Thorncliffe Park Community Hub and other sites.

Our First Dose at Home program is no longer available after June 26

However, our team will continue to facilitate vaccine requests from homebound individuals in East Toronto.

Our COVID-19 vaccine booking office is no longer operating after June 30

If you need help making an appointment at a vaccine clinic near you or have questions about eligibility, we encourage you to use the online provincial booking system or to call 1-833-943-3900.

Our Clinical Assessment Centre and newly expanded COVID-19 Outreach Centres continue to offer walk-in supports

We remain committed to supporting East Toronto communities during and beyond COVID-19, especially those that were disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.

In the coming months, we will continue to offer walk-in PCR tests, take-home PCR test kits, COVID-19 treatments, COVID-19 vaccines, mental health counselling and other services at our COVID-19 Outreach Centres.

Our Clinical Assessment Centre (825 Coxwell Ave.) also continues to offer walk-in PCR tests, take-home PCR test kits and COVID-19 assessments and treatments.

We continue to work closely with partners to introduce additional services at COVID-19 Outreach Centres, such as preventative cancer screening, that support COVID-19 recovery and help priority neighbourhoods prepare for additional waves of the virus.

We thank our partners and community members for their immense support at these clinics over the past year and look forward to continuing our work together in COVID-19 response and recovery.
