Join our team as a Full-Time Labour & Employee Relations Coordinator

Reporting to the Director, Labour & Employee Relations, this position will provide assistance and support to the Labour & Employee Relations team. I n this role, you will assist and participate in contract negotiations, workplace investigations, conflict and dispute resolution, labour-management meetings and the grievance management process. Additionally, this role will be responsible for administer ing the Hospital’s Attendance Management Program and will have the opportunity to participate in other key projects.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an Industrial Relations or Human Resources focus is preferred, or a degree in a related field with a post graduate diploma/certificate in Human Resources Management (or equivalent combination of educat ion and experience)
- CHRP or CHRL designation preferred

Qualifications

- Three (3) to five (5) years of recent related experience in Human Resources, with at least two (2) years related experience in Labour Relations, (preferably in a healthcare environment);

- Strong planning and organizational skills is requi red
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) is required
- Full understanding and demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation, including Employment Standards Act, Ontario Labour Relations Act, Human Rights Code;
- Demonstrated tact and sound professional judgment when responding to matters concerning confidential and sensitive information is required;
- Ability to engage and form strong, trusting partnerships with all stakeholders is required
- Ability to provide pragmati c business solutions to labour and employee relations issues
within a dynamic, fast-paced, service excellence environment is required
- Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills is required
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills, with the ability to deliver creative solutions and resolve issues effectively is required
- Demonstrated strong presentation, facilitation and project management skills is required
- Ability to lead and effectively influence others is required.
- Must be se lf-directed with the ability to exercise independent discretion; strong awareness of confidentiality is required.
- Comprehensive computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) is required.
- Excellent work and attend ance record is required.
- Understanding and demonstrated working knowledge of relevant legislation, including Employment Standards Act, 2000, Ontario Labour Relations Act, Ontario Human Rights Code is preferred;
- Knowledge and experience with colle ctive bargaining preferred
