Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is the first point of contact for an assigned client group and will work proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders to provide strategic HR advice and business solutions that are grounded in HR best practice and aligned with the operational and strategic goals of the Hospital. The HRBP is responsible for providing a full range of HR services in the areas of: employee and labour relations, recruitment, compensation & benefits, absence & disability management, and HRIS transactions. The HRBP also serves as a champion for promoting and delivering HR programming and initiatives ensuring compliance with legislation, hospital polic ies and supporting a positive work environment for all employees.

Education

- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business or related field required.
- Current membership with the Human Resources Professionals Association preferred.

Qualifications

- Minimum of five (5) years' recent relevant experience in Human Resources providing proactive,
strategic employee and labour relations advice and practical business solutions to clients within a complex, multi union environment is required (preferabl y in healthcare).
- Demonstrated skills and experience in leading complex workplace investigations is required.
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of labour relations including: interpreting and applying collective agreements, grievance management, prog ressive discipline, performance management and attendance management, required.
- Demonstrated experience in facilitating workplace accommodation is required.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting full cycle recruitment.
- Strong understanding of co mpensation principles including job evaluation is required.
- Solid knowledge of Human Resources best practices, policies, procedures and employment-related legislation such as: Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Occupational Health &Safety A ct, Labour Relations Act, Pay Equity Act.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to engage and form trusting partnerships with all stakeholders is required.
- Passionate advocate of Human Resources best practice; strong business acumen and abil ity to influence others is required.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills, required.
- Team player with excellent interpersonal, time management and organization skills, required.
- Demonstrated accountability with a strong work ethic is required. Must be self-directed with the ability to exercise independent discretion; strong awareness of confidentiality is required.
- Experience working with an HRIS, conducting transactional audits and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word), required.
- Good work and attendance record required.
